Hello, you!
If you were to meet me in person, I'd probably be all shy and keep to myself, but once you get to know me well enough, I can be a pretty fun person! :D

When I do my Bible research, I visit multiple websites to find information as accurate as possible. These are some websites I've come to rely on as my go-to sources when I want to study the Bible:

Bible Universe, Amazing Facts, Voice of Prophecy, It Is Written, Hope Channel, Bible History, Bible Prophecy Truth

ALSO, there's a website out there (I know the people that made it) called
"Recovering the Remnant". It's small, you won't find it with a simple Google search. ^^;
It basically is a non-profit group that does nothing but distribute pre-purchased books, DVDs, and many 30-40 page booklets for Bible study, all FREE for anyone. All you have to do is fill out the request form, and they mail it to you. Or you could note ME your info instead, and I'll hook you up! :D

You know how you feel sometimes when you have a crisis of faith for a while but suddenly feel freaking great? That's me.

In part thanks to two different sites, Biologos(Evangelical site, supporting evolution but still keeping to Christian doctrine), and The Jewish Virtual Library which has helped me with questions about the Conquest of Canaan. Such as that the lack of archaeological evidence at Arad (Numbers describes a Canaanite city there at that time) was more likely a king in the ancient Negev Desert, then known as the Arad Desert, whose capitol was at another city. Or could have been a battle that took place simply in the Arad Desert.

Another thing was something Biologos mentioned was how the battles at Jericho and Ai, while tough, might have been more descriptive of fort battles. Just sort of interesting stuff. biologos.org/blog/apologetic-i…

I know you might disagree, but it is interesting.

It's nice when we reach a spiritual high. :)

I do believe in microevolution, but not macroevolution.
The thing is that Genesis is the foundation for understanding the rest of the Bible. In it alone it establishes what to believe regarding theology; anthropology; sociology; marriage, family, and community; cosmology; and soteriology. But once we interpret one piece of the book as poetry, like the creation week or the creation of man, how do we know the rest isn't poetry as well? How do we even know it's poetry in the first place? If the story of creation is only poetic imagery, what about the institution of marriage? The origin of sin? The first messianic prophecy? The value of humanity? All these things written in Genesis are now left open to be reinterpreted as well, along with the rest of the Bible, which expands on Genesis.

Moses was the one responsible for writing the Pentateuch, and like all the other writers of the Bible, he had his own writing style. He mainly wrote of historical events, genealogies, laws, etc. But poetry does not mix with those things. David and Solomon, on the other hand, did not write of such legitimate things, rather, their works are filled with beautiful poetry and words of wisdom to improve our lives. So we see that these two categories can't mix within the same book, or else it would be very easy to mix truth with poetry or symbolism and believe a different doctrine than what the Bible actually teaches. I like the answer this evangelist gives from this live radio broadcast regarding Creation Week.

I dunno, I just felt that website had a very deistic way of thinking. God got things started, then overall just left evolution to take its course. It just doesn't match up with the loving, intimate God the Bible describes! :)
