Clay Tip - Soft to Hard by pipoca6694 Clay Tip - Soft to Hard by pipoca6694
This is something I do a lot whenever I have clay that is just too soft to retain its shape and texture. After doing this, the clay should still be soft and "moldable" after conditioning , but will keep its shape more easily.

This is something :iconbabyhime: kindly convinced me to do, along with other cool tips she's done herself, and she might post this on her gallery and/or blog as well. (Just so people don't accuse her of stealing anything) :D

Yeah, I was planning on making a tutorial for that too, but I never got around to it. :P
If you want you can try this:

chop up your hard clay into tiny pieces. Bunch them all together and add A LITTLE BIT of vegetable oil and mix it all together. Polymer clay is oil-based, so adding oil makes it softer. Just be careful not to add too much, or it gets sticky, but if that happens, then just follow this tutorial here! :D

Sure, you just need to flatten it into a thin piece (about 0.5cm should be thin enough) and leave it in between the papers for approx. 3 hours to a day, depending on how soft the clay is. ^^
